Set Me Free

Latest Literature Deviation: Set Me Free.

It's supposed to be the Second Chapter of the novel, "Three Steps from Hell", that my fellow deviant, Ruta Emilia, is writing. She sponsored a contest, on deviantART, wherein the participants were required to write the said second chapter and that one's my lame attempt at an entry. Anything to practice my writing veins, I guess. I enjoyed the experience though, distractions included. I just hope I didn't make a mockery of her novel by introducing such a sexist and horrific write-up.

I am an avid fan of House, M.D., both of the show and of the character. There's just something about the stingy old man that speaks to me. Maybe it's my future that I see whenever he spreads gloom and doom in the television screen. Scary thought but true, nonetheless. We both like challenging ourselves intellectually, we are both addicted to pain and despair and we're both complete asses to people we know and love. The only difference is that he's a genius while I'm a struggling starving writer.

On an episode, he said this to Dr. Foreman and Thirteen:

"If you don't split, you must quit."

He was, of course, referring to their romantic relationship and the fact that it had gotten in the way of their work. I'm not really a fan of interoffice romance, hence why I hated Jim and Pam in the Office when they got around to being engaged. I view myself in college as a sandbox for professionalism. As much as I like, I try and practice that aspect of my humanity, for the lulz and in preparation of when I finally venture into corporate society. That should explain why my girlfriend isn't from my current school.
