The Economical Writer

Let's face it, I can't sell anything at this age. As much as I'd like to be a successful published author by next week, that can never happen. So, given that I have a choice between an early cash flow or expensive books to study, I'd choose the money.

It's not the end of my writing career (lol?). It's far from it. It's just a sizable insurance because I know, for a fact, that a writer's life will be an impoverished one - except if you're already rich and you want to live the rest of your life milking the cows that gave birth to you. No, sir, I do not want to buy my own family out of a house and the shirts on their back.

I'm still young, very actually, so this investment will not be for nothing. I will not abandon my passion. Instead, I'll put it off for a couple of years - say, three - to save enough resources for its sustenance. We can say that strategy's over-used but it's heckuva smart. Besides, I'm not going to be far from my beloved language and literature.

Next year will be fun!

Birthday Blues

I am writing another novel idea...again. I don't know when I'll get bored and drop this one. I might have not written anything for GRAY (another novel of mine) as of late but it's still on my laptop so that means there is still hope. God, I hate it when I want to write stuff and then things (like my laziness, running out of idea, getting sidetracked by pets) spoil my fun. Thankfully, I'm not that old yet.

My birthday wish is to finally finish a novel (and that's not going to happen anytime soon).

Drug Abuse

I hate Aaron Felizmenio.

Unlike me, who's stuck in a writing rut because of academic time locks, he's having a blast drawing his comic strips without much effort. His determination for his art is something admirable but annoying at the same time, the latter mainly because I can't reciprocate it as much as I'd want to. I have deadlines to overcome, meetings to blindly arrange, stenography (GOD DAMN YOU) to understand and memorize, anxieties to murder and a new psychology case as a distraction.

Gaiman, I should have kept my apathy.

Quick Update to Clear my Head for Writing

Yes, I know. My blog is REALLY messy. I'm a little out of free time the past few weeks so I haven't made any effort to clean it.

Been trying my hardest to become more involved with the school since it's my last year and most of my friends are at the helm so free time is understandably scarce for me now. As I've said, I've recently been elected as the President of the Literati, the ACC English Majors Society, and the faculty has been on my arse with all the school work and the contests and the meetings and the like. I'm not saying I hate it or something but it's just been overwhelming. Oh well. Nothing I can't handle anyway.

My writing hasn't been that great as well. My percentage, my rate of productivity, has been everything but decent. Fatigue from too much work can be distracting. Fortunately, I'm going to be competing for something now. The deadline's on August 30 so I'll probably keep you posted when that day comes, just to say whether I got in or not. Only 8 writers from all over the country will get a slot in the outstanding workshop so I'm really excited and stressed at the same time. I need to write my best or I'll end up beating myself for the failure.

Cheers! Good luck to me, mates!
